In the US, there are almost 5 million “Opportunity Youth”: young people between the ages of 16-24 who are not in school or the workforce. In partnership with the Forum for Youth Investment, we lifted up the stories of former and current Opportunity Youth, their employers and partners to illuminate their experiences and needs. From this content, we helped the Reconnecting Youth Campaign design their branding, videos, website, and storytelling and advocacy events for the public and legislators across the county. The result? We got to learn so much from young people and give them the opportunity to share their voices and wisdom in Washington DC and cities across the nation. To date, this campaign has helped to increase appropriations to youth development programs that support Opportunity Youth across the USA by hundreds of millions of dollars.
