Griots of Oakland nominated for Book Award!

Story For All’s latest book, The Griots of Oakland: Voices from the African American Oral History Project, has been nominated for the In the Margins Book Award.

A national award, In the Margins strives to find the best books for teens living in poverty, on the streets, in custody – or a cycle of all three. They celebrate books of high-interest appeal to youth, ages 9 – 21, that reflect marginalized and/or street culture. Youth feedback is a critical factor in book nomination and selection.

Story For All created The Griots of Oakland to uplift the voices of African American young men and share their experiences and wisdom in a manner that is  authentic, thought-provoking and inspiring. So happy that readers of all ages are finding value in this work.
